Autumn is my favorite time of year. It’s when I am the most creative and in tuned with my mind and spirit. Every Autumn, I enjoy decorating my apartment, on a budget of course, and collecting sweaters, watching scary movies, lighting my favorite Autumn scented candles, baking delicious treats and wearing the deepest shades of red on my lips. Read along as I show you how to turn your home into an Autumn inspiration and learn about my favorite things this time of year.
Hello loves and welcome back to my blog. If you are new to my blog, hello! You an learn more about me here. Make sure we stay connected at all times, through my Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter! SUBSCRIBE to my blog to get exclusive content for members only like this here.
I love simple, affordable and easy decor and it’s a favorite creative Autumn favorites I want to share with you all. Throughout these pictures, you will see loose “fake” fall leaves, fake pumpkins, pine cones, Autumn garlands, etc. Go to the Dollar Tree and Walmart to pick up all these decorative items! The trick is, don’t make the decor look so “neat” and “placed”. For example, the $1 pack of fall leaves from the Dollar Tree and these pine cones from Walmart, are randomly placed on my TV stand and book shelf as if they have fallen off the trees themselves! I also picked up a wooden basket from Walmart for $4 and placed fake pumpkins in there (from the Dollar Tree and Walmart) to make it seem like I went “pumpkin picking”.
So, I am obsessed with sweater weather and it’s number 2 on my list of my Autumn favorites. I live in FL, but we catch a few cold days here and then and I am quick to bust out those sweaters. All my sweaters are from Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Burlington! You can find stylish sweater for all under $15 each!
I love covering my feet up this time of year with my booties, flats, oxfords and mules. These types of shoes are all my Autumn favorites. I buy most of my shoes at Target, because they carry size 11 and they have really cute shoes at affordable prices. All shoes pictured here, except the booties (from Payless for $12), were all from Target, each under $30.
Autumn Lip Shades
Berries, deep burgundy, blood reds and brownish reds are my autumn favorites when it comes to lip shades. My favorite shades are from affordable beauty lines such as Jordana Cosmetics and Wet N Wild. These two Wet N Wild shades were $4 each and the Jordana Cosmetics sweet creme matte shades are around $5.48 each. That’s a bargain! The matte shades I will be rocking this Autumn are:
- Goth Topic: Wet N Wild (liquid catsuit line)
- Video Vixen: Wet N Wild (liquid catsuit line)
- Cinnamon Toast: Jordana (sweet creme matte line)
- Red Velvet: Jordana (sweet creme matte line)
Autumn Scented Candles
If you don’t have an Autumn candle burning right now, stop reading this and light one! Since I can’t see the leaves change colors here in FL or go to a real pumpkin patch, the next best thing is getting to “smell” Autumn through candles, and that’s why they are on my Autumn favorites list! The candle I am currently burning is Leaves by Bath and Body Works. Bath and Body works could be pricey if you don’t go when they have a sale and use a coupon. If there isn’t a sale, check out my blog post here on affordable Autumn scented candles that I also love to burn!
Autumn Inspired Food/Drinks
I can’t mention Autumn favorites without mentioning food! Check out my blog post from last Autumn here on what I like to make this time of year. Lets just say I get real creative with my coffee and pancakes!
This time of year, my favorite shows start up again and the best scary movies are on TV. I also love to re-read some of my Harry Potter books too this time of year. I am so excited for Once Upon A Time to start up on Oct 6th! Also, I am binge watching Charmed and Salem on Netflix this season as well! As for scary movies, I love anything about witches, ghosts or possession! ( I know I am weird haha)
